Choripán

Choripán

As we know, sometimes the simplest things are the best. This post recipe is an example of it.

Choripán – easy to make and soooo delicious! It’s popular street food in Argentina. The name of it translates to main ingredients: chorizo and bun (pan in Spanish). This sandwich is usually served with chimichurri and salsa criolla.

For 6 sandwiches you will need:

Chimichurri:

  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp smoked hot paprika
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • freshly ground black pepper

Salsa Criolla:

  • 1/2 red onion, chopped
  • 1 large tomato, finely diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 6 gluten free mini baguettes (or regular mini baguettes)
  • 350 g chorizo

1. In a medium bowl mix all the ingredients for chimichurri sauce.

2. In a bowl combine all the ingredients for salsa. Adjust seasoning to your preferences.

3. Preheat the pan. Finely chop chorizo and add it to the pan. Let it cook until browned.

4. Slice the buns and spread some salsa, add chorizo and chimichurri.
